Ivan Solomon

In 2019, Ivan Solomon served as a Fulbright professor in the English department of Ecole Normal Supérieure in Rabat. He taught public speaking and spoken English to first-year and sophomore students. Ivan was raised in Wilmington, North Carolina and graduated from Pomona College in southern California. Pursuing his passion for community engagement, Ivan participated in various extracurricular activities from directing a mentorship program for disadvantaged high school students to leading tours of Pomona’s campus. Inside the classroom, Ivan also excelled. He was selected for a Boren Scholarship to study Arabic in Morocco, served as a fellow in the Georgetown University Initiative for U.S.-China Dialogue, and conducted research on several subjects related to American perceptions of the Middle East and histories of state-led secularization.
